For the last 25 years, Patrizia has worked in the clinic for Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, also lecturing on the management of chronic diseases in the Master’s program at the Institute for Nursing Sciences, Basel.
Having developed and working as an advanced practice nurse her role has a specific focus on the nursing care for patients with chronic liver diseases. In her Ph.D., Patrizia evaluated a newly developed behavioral intervention for men who have sex with men living with HIV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) co-infection (completed 2020).
After her Ph.D., Patrizia Künzler continues to work on a study program in the field of HIV/HCV prevention and treatment. Highly involved in current and ongoing research on the care of patients with liver cirrhosis and transplantation.
