From sick care to longevity, Dr. Marcus Ranney's career over the past two decades have led him from the patient's bedside to a wider stage as he now creates global impact via systemic change by championing wellbeing.
Completing his Bachelors of Science and Medical degrees from University College Medical School in London his passion for extreme physiology has allowed him to conduct field research across the planet. With expeditions taking him to the sides of Everest, the summit of Kilimanjaro, across the Himalayas, skiing in the Arctic and the European Alps; he has served as a medical officer in the Royal Air Force and at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. After practising clinical medicine in London, in 2010, he made the transition to Mumbai where he has worked within the Healthcare and Life-sciences industry as a Strategic advisor and Investor with a range of MNC and national bellwether firms. Augmenting his contributions towards planetary health, the Covid-19 pandemic brought Marcus back to the front-lines, first as a medical volunteer and then via his not-for-profit social initiave MedsForMore. He has authored a best selling book, ‘At The Human Edge’, is a regular keynote speaker, hosts a popular digital talk show and regularly contributes as a public health commentator. Marcus has been a World Economic Forum’s Global Shaper and a Senior Fellow to the Atlantic Council A champion of wellbeing, Marcus is a big believer of leveraging the power of digital biomarkers to hack the human operating system primed for longevity; allowing us to reach our fullest potential – health, brain and body – via his latest investor backed venture, HumanEdge. Marcus is a keen athlete and long distance marathon runner, he holds a Guinness World Record for backwards running(!) and thoroughly enjoys being a father to his two young children.
